Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the last poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest players around the world. While competing in online poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I believe Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the greatest poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total dollar value. I think television can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players in the world might just be guys you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be found participating in net poker on Full Tilt. He usually participates in high stakes omaha hi-low and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in cash games?
